Nepal steps up helicopter and ground operations as rescue teams search for missing and stranded people in Timure, Syabrubesi and other flood-hit areas along the Bhotekoshi River.
The Nepal government has stepped up search, rescue and relief operations following severe flooding along the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, with authorities focusing on communities that remain cut off or at risk.
Rescue teams began intensifying operations early Thursday morning as reports emerged of people stranded or missing in several areas along the river. The government has mobilised security agencies and private-sector resources to reach affected communities and provide immediate assistance.
The Nepali Army supplied essential food, tents and medicines to flood-affected areas during the night. The relief material was intended to support residents facing shortages of basic necessities following the flooding.
Helicopters operated by the Nepali Army and private operators were used in rescue efforts, alongside personnel from the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force. Ground teams also continued operations through the night, working from accessible routes to reach affected locations.
The search has now been expanded around Timure, Syabrubesi and other settlements and stretches of the riverbank. Additional helicopter sorties and teams travelling on foot have been deployed to locate people who may be trapped or missing.
Authorities are also relying on coordination between security agencies, local authorities and private-sector organisations to accelerate the response. The focus remains on reaching isolated communities, rescuing those in danger and delivering essential supplies.
With conditions in the affected areas still requiring close monitoring, rescue teams are continuing their operations while authorities assess the extent of the damage and the needs of residents.
