India’s Abhay Singh secured the men’s singles title at the Tuanku Muhriz Trophy 2026 in Seremban, Malaysia, producing a strong comeback in a closely contested final against Hong Kong’s Henry Leung.
Indian squash player Abhay Singh emerged victorious at the Tuanku Muhriz Trophy 2026 after defeating Henry Leung in a five-game final. Singh fought back after falling behind early in the match to seal the championship in a tense deciding game.
The Indian started the final strongly, taking the opening game 11–7. Leung responded by taking the next two games, winning 11–6 and 11–3, and moved within one game of the title.
Facing the possibility of defeat, Singh changed the momentum of the contest in the fourth game. He controlled the rallies more effectively and won the game 11–5, forcing the final into a deciding fifth game.
The fifth game produced the closest contest of the match. Both players remained level deep into the game, but Singh held his nerve at the crucial stage to win 12–10 and complete a 3–2 victory.
The triumph adds another major achievement to Singh’s professional squash career. It also marks his third Tuanku Muhriz Trophy title, having previously won the tournament in 2022 and 2024.
Singh’s victory further strengthens India’s presence on the international squash circuit. His ability to recover from a 1–2 deficit and close out the match under pressure was the defining feature of the final.
With the Tuanku Muhriz Trophy title now added to his 2026 campaign, Singh will look to build on his recent form and continue competing for honours on the PSA Tour.
